Our best and very popular BINGO games are temporarily suspended and will resume hopefully by July 2026. Meanwhile, our Dime Bingo games are still happening and will occur once or twice every month. See the activity schedule for exact days and times.

Our Tai Chi and Qigong teacher is temporarily unable to attend the Tai Chi and Qigong classes. The classes are continuing as usual. The substitute teacher is a big screen showing YouTube videos. Students are attending the classes and so far have no complaints about the substitute teacher. They are still enjoying the group activity as they spend time with like-minded fellow seniors all intent on staying in motion and keeping fit. We miss our instructor and look forward to his returning to lead the classes.

The Bayside Terrace Senior Living community located in the Empire neighborhood of Coos Bay will be hosting a free luncheon at the North Bend Senior Center on June 22, 2026. The menu looks wonderful. There will be seating and food enough to serve 70 hungry seniors. It might be first come first serve. So, call the office for more information. If there is a signup sheet, ask to have your name added to the list.

The Board of Directors holds its monthly meeting on the third Wednesday of the month at 6:00 pm in the conference room. To attend the meeting as a guest, call the office during normal business hours to reserve a seat because space is limited at the meetings.

The senior center provides ongoing activities and events of interest to seniors. To keep our programs going on schedule, we need activity leaders and backup leaders who can fill in when a regular leader is not available to lead a class. Consequently, we have an ongoing need for volunteers to organize and lead our activities. If you have an interest in leading a class, or if you have an idea for a class or activity that is not currently on our schedule, please contact our president or director to share your ideas. Call or come into the office during regular business hours and share your ideas about leading or teaching a class or activity that matches your skills and interests.

We are also in need of volunteers who can spare an hour or two each week or month to represent the senior center at community events and meetings and help us to grow our outreach efforts. We would really appreciate your participation. Spending just a few hours per week or month to further our outreach efforts would provide a valuable impetus to our efforts to keep our senior center running.

Additionally, we are seeking business, corporate, or individual sponsors for the senior center and for any of our activity programs. If your business or organization is interested in supporting the senior community, we would be delighted to explore partnership opportunities with you.
